An Open House event is being held at the Middle Fork Crow River Watershed District Office on Monday, July 28th, 2025 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. for the Lake Calhoun Dam & Bridge Project to allow the general public to come ask questions and gather information regarding the project which is expected to begin fall of 2025. 

This project involves replacing the Lake Calhoun bridge and dam structure with a new bridge and rock arch rapids. In addition, a pedestrian walkway will be included along with shoreline fishing enhancements. Both structures will be rebuilt at the same elevation.

Permits are currently under review, and construction is anticipated to begin after September 15th, 2025. During bridge replacement, public access to the site will be closed. However, establishing a temporary primitive access point at the north end of the lake during this period is being considered.
