MFCRWD Awarded Minnesota's 2025 Watershed District of the Year

On December 4th, the Middle Fork Crow River Watershed District was awarded 2025 Watershed District of the Year at the Minnesota Watersheds Annual Conference!
Presented by Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, this award recognizes watershed districts that excel in water management, innovative project development, and strong community partnerships. Our district was recognized for our dedication, collaboration, and impact in protecting local water resources.
A major highlight of our work this year was our partnership with the Minnesota DNR on the Lake Calhoun Dam project, which will replace outdated structures with new rock arch rapids and a modern bridge featuring a pedestrian walkway—enhancing safety, connectivity, and habitat quality along the Middle Fork Crow River.
We’re incredibly proud of this recognition and could not protect and preserve our water without the help of our team, Board of Managers, Stantec Engineering, local partners, volunteers, and community!
